An international workshop on theoretical calculations of ELNES and XANES (TEX2008) will be held at the Japan Fine Ceramics Center, Nagoya, Japan, from July 2 to 4, 2008. The workshop provides an excellent opportunity to learn about state-of-the-art computational techniques for quantitative analysis and for the interpretation of ELNES (electron energy loss near-edge structures) and XANES (x-ray absorption near-edge structures). Detailed discussions and exchanges of ideas are also envisaged. Talks by the world's leading-edge scientists are planned on the 1st day, and tutorial session's are made on the 2nd and 3rd days. The official language of the workshop will be English.
